Carnarvon Gorge Tour

Tuesday 7th June to Tuesday 14th June 2022

Located in the middle of the Great Dividing Range, the Carnarvon Gorge National Park is a rugged area

featuring dramatic gorge scenery as well as many aboriginal rock carvings and paintings. It is spectacularly

stunning partly because it is an oasis surrounded by drier plains and partly due to its scenic variety which

includes sandstone cliffs, moss gardens, deep pools and rare palms and ferns. The Gorge also contains fine

examples of Aboriginal art along with an abundance of animal and bird life.

On this tour we will travel via Goondiwindi & Roma before arriving at Carnarvon Gorge where we will stay for 2

nights. Apart from being able to enjoy one of the many walks in the area (or sit under a tree and take in all the

beauty of the area) a local guide will provide us with a locals viewpoint of the area. Their insight of the history of the area is astounding.

Farewelling the National Park we will then travel via Rolleston, Biloela onto Agnes Waters and 1770 where we

board the LARC for a unique journey over vast sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, tidal creeks and then

begins a 4WD journey up to Bustard Headland & the Lighthouse. A fabulous day where you will also learn all

about the history of when Lieutenant James Cook stepped ashore more than two centuries ago.

Our tour then takes us through to Bundaberg and the famous, The Bundaberg Barrell where we will learn all about the history of the famous craft brewed drinks with the opportunity to enjoy a taste or two.

Our final journey takes us through to Gympie, Coolangatta and then homeward bound.

A wonderful tour, full of variety awaits you.
